I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Operations and Logistics division, Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. I am fortunate to be advised by Dr. Christopher Thomas Ryan, Dr. Tim Huh and Dr. Mahesh Nagarajan.
Prior to my Ph.D., I received my bachelor degree in School of Information Management and Engineering, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, advised by Dr. Bo Jiang.
In June 2022, I visited the University of Washington for the Summer School on Optimal Transport.
In Semptember 2023, I visited Dr. Xin T. Tong in the Department of Mathematics, National University of Singapore.
Besides my advisors, I also work with: Bo Jiang, Xin T. Tong, Will Ma, Jiajin Li, Jiding Zhang, Mengzhenyu Zhang, Oussama Hanguir, Xihua Zhu, NetEase Fuxi AI lab.
Here is my CV.
I will be joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decisions, Operations and Technology in Fall 2026.
My research centers around the design and operation of service systems, with a particular focus on two key areas: Probabilistic Mechanisms and User-centered Design. By “service system,” I refer to large-scale operations designed to adapt to the behavior of customers who actively interact with the elements of the service. This concept encompasses both real-life and virtual systems, such as bike-sharing networks and the virtual worlds found in video games.
Probabilistic mechanisms refer to mechanisms in a service system where the designer chooses a probability distribution.
User-centered design refers to an approach where the system is designed based on identified user behavior.
My work has concrete real-world applications, and I collaborate with industry partners in the gaming sector to address issues related to their service systems. My coauthors and I are actively working to build connections and expand our impact in this industry.
